Nicolas Gertler is a first-year student at Yale University, studying Cognitive Science and Education Studies. Nicolas’ research at the Digital Ethics Center explores how we can leverage generative AI in education to create innovative pedagogical frameworks that foster enriched learning experiences.
Nicolas is also the Chair of the AI Issue Advisory Council and the AI & Education Advisor at Encode Justice. He leads a team of 20+ AI Advisors, working to analyze AI’s domain-specific implications. As the AI & Education Advisor, Nicolasfacilitates conversations around AI policies in educational institutions; he recently authored an AI & Education Policy Framework that supports schools in ethically and effectively integrating AI into their pedagogy. He is also a recurring roundtable panelist at the U.S. Department of Education.
Additionally, Nicolas serves as the Vice President at Fidutam, where he spearheads the organization’s global expansion, forging partnerships with stakeholders across government, industry, and civil society. Nicolas’ leadership extends to overseeing Fidutam’s network of 1,500+ students, managing 15+ executive team members, and recruiting talent worldwide.
